Waterfalls

Meenmutti and Kombaikani Waterfalls

These are two magnificent waterfalls on the upper reaches of the Neyyar reservoir. A trek of two kilometers, through dense forests, would take one to Meenmutty Falls, Thiruvananthapuram and a further two km, to the Kombaikani waterfalls. The waterfalls and forests around them are worth experiencing.

Aruvi Waterfalls

Aruvi waterfall is another pleasant addition to the long list of picturesque waterfalls that dots the majestic landscape of Kerala. The scenic view of crystal clear water cascading down and creating a sound that is music to the ears of nature lovers is what makes the visit fruitful. Enhancing the experience is its location- lying amidst rolling hills and thick forest cover. Aruvi waterfalls are located at a distance of 60 km from Trivandrum. The weather of Aruvi region is as pleasant as the place itself, and a part from the scenic beauty, Aruvi is an ideal destination for trekking enthusiasts as well. Sage Agasthiar’s temple located nearby acts as added attraction which especially during the months of April to May attracts large number of devotees. The site falls under the Peppara forest region and is found at a distance of 7 km from Bonecaud estate which is the end point as far as transportation is concerned. From there and with prior permission from the forest department, visitors have to trek to the location; however the effort is worth the site as one is treated with nature’s beauty in isolation and untouched by any disturbance.
